I worked along with a fellow my age, with an older man supervising us. It was a great summer of hard work and a nice break between my two years at Junior College, before going off to Cal Poly for 5 years of Architecture training. We were special education majors studying to be teachers of the handicapped in the summer we were there, Two of the weeks were for handicapped children and adults, some I believe from a local or state institution. This was one of the best adventures of my life and the beginning of a 40 year career in special education in Durango Colorado!Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03272749727962681021noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1534880829746275119.post-50402017755772462982014-08-15T00:57:12.340-07:002014-08-15T00:57:12.340-07:00George, I hadn't noticed this blog entry when ...George, I hadn't noticed this blog entry when you wrote it. GREAT info. My girls grew up going to Tomlin and Low Echo. We lost both last year. Happy to see some history and even happier Low Echo will continue in some capacity. Hopefully the local scouts will be welcomed back to their longtime home. Was heartbreaking to lose both camps in the merger. Gotta love progress.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13612451449278511693noreply@blogger.com
